An update. :)

It has been some time since I last posted here. Been busy with a lot of work. Have no time to tap in into any creative and free writing spirit. Everything is academic writing. Everything is structured. Its a headache. :)

First of all, Happy New Year 2014!

Well, I will just update my current activity in this post.

To start, I've finished my undergraduate studies and have graduated quite well for my degree in Bachelor of Arts (English Linguistics). Most of my friends, course-mate or not, also graduated at the same time. A lot of them have started working already after graduating.

Me? I've not started working yet. On the contrary, I continued my studies to a higher level. Yes. To a higher level. Not that I'm really an excellent student. Its just that I had my fortune quite good.

Thank god to that. Alhamdulillah!

Me and a few of my friends pursued our Masters in Applied Linguistics. You got it! The same field as I did for my undergraduate level. A few notably akim, paan, hamzi, acap. afiq, and shukri. There are a few more but I will just keep it short. The ones closest to me. :)
First semester has gone done and dusted. I don't know how to summarise our first semester of study. But looking at our results, I guess we did okay. We rode the storm really well I would say. Proud of us.
So, as I was saying, we did pretty well. As for me, I started my post-graduate studies better than i had expected. An A-, B+, and a B proved to be good for me. My semester result was 3.417. A good head-start ehh. :)
With that result I will be continuing my studies in the second semester mid february. Ohh, forgot to mention my programme will be 2 years, which will have a total of four semesters. If there are no complications in the middle. By complications, I meant any failed subjects specifically. Hence, I would have to brace myself for the upcoming one and a half year of more difficult studies, tiring assignments, killing exams, and most of all much much more sleepless nights. :)

That would sum up my current activity.

And last but not least, I'm with someone now. Well, not faz. It didn't work out between us. Wish her good luck with her new man.

I'm with a girl from Kedah. She's a senior at my college. A college senior but she's the same age as me. :)
Nana. But not her real name though.
I really hope we'll work out. We fight sometimes but that is part and parcel of any relationship. She has been my motivation in my current studies. Well, apart from my family that is.

For the future! ^^v

Bird Park KL : Awesome!

4th July 2012

This is the second week of my shortsem. class have been pack although i'm only taking 2 subjects. tiring. but all for a good reason. my lecturers are very kind and friendly, maybe because there is only 13 of us in the class but it gives a good mood when the lecturers are easy going. i hope i won't get on their bad books when they are being very kind.

enough about my shortsem. the reason i'm posting this is to enlighten you all about a certain bird sanctuary situated in KL.

the KL Bird Park : World's Largest Free-flight Walk-in Aviary

the KL Bird Park is situated in jalan cenderawasih. there are a few recognizable landmark near the bird park which is the national monument, national mosque and Tun Abdul Razak memorial. the bird park is open to visitors from 9.00am to 6.00pm daily. the bird park offers many activities that visitors can look forward to. bird photography, hornbill feeding, lories feeding, bird show, free flying birds feeding and many more. keep note that all these activities have different times except for the lories feeding which is from 10.00am to 5.00pm. this place is quite interesting to visit especially for families that want a laid back activity for their quality time with the family.

i myself did not pass up the opportunity to go there. i went with of course my dear fazreen and we had a great time there. except for the prices of the things that are sold there.
can you imagine an ice-cream cup is rm 2.00  each?? outside you can get it for rm 1.00. and a simple hot dog would cost you a total of rm 5.00. that for me is ridiculous. with rm 5.00 we can get a complete lunch.

the entrance ticket costs us rm 25 for each person and that price is only for the ones holding mykad. so for foreigners it costs them around rm 48 if i'm not mistaken. that's a very huge difference isn't it?

the ticket :)

in the bird park the birds roam freely and run around among the visitors. but to touch them would be very difficult as the birds are very shy to human touch. but just looking at the rare birds walking around you is quite interesting enough. peacocks, storks, hornbills, flamingos and many more bird species roam freely. walking and flying around you. it is a sight to behold. we don't find these birds flying around in our backyard do we? fascinating. breathtaking. exciting.  :)
but of course not all birds are outside. some of the birds are also caged and can be only seen at a distance. though it is called free-flight not all the birds can be let out.
the reasoning is simple. imagine they let out eagles around, do you want the eagles to swoop down and snatch your small baby from you simply thinking that your baby is food?
or you or your child walking behind an ostrich and suddenly the ostrich kicks with its huge feet? imagine how that would be. painful. excruciating. maybe fun but definitely humiliating.  ^^ v

roaming peacock
me and faz arrived about 10.45 am and it took us almost 3 hours to completely walk through the entire park. because it is working day, not many locals can be seen at the park. most of the visitors there are international tourists with their kids and families.

that's majestic right?

we walked around fascinated by the various species of birds and occasionally took some rest. the park is quite big. for an old geezer like me, i tire quickly.  :)
one thing we did not do there was to watch the bird show. it was a pity though. it would have been wonderful if we were able to watch the show. apparently, when the show started we were too far away from the amphitheater. so we decided we would not watch the show. sad.

but to make up for that loss, we got to do something far more fascinating. more exciting. awesome! we got to feed the parrots. well, it is not called parrots actually. lories to be exact. but it is situated in the world of parrots. so to make it simple. lets call them parrots.  ^^ v
inside the world of parrots, the exotic birds are flying freely and singing loudly.
to feed them, the park workers will provide some sunflower seeds and a cup of mixed milk and honey. all in the cost of rm 2.00.
to be honest. this is the best activity one could enjoy in this bird park. this sums up our whole day at the park.

let the pictures do the talking.

world of parrots :)
they are free!

this is the world of parrots i was talking about. those red and green ones are called lories. correct me if i'm wrong.  :)
there are a lot of this bird species. they are the dominant ones in the area.

:)
they flew right onto your hand.
she didn't want to do it at first.
and she's enjoying it now  :)

we don't need to do much to get the birds to come. just put the seeds onto our hand and lift up the cup of milk. the birds will automatically come and feed on it. only if they are full then they will not come.  :)
they're totally cute. those birds. sometimes they would fight with each other to get their fair share.

even on someone's head?

other visitors feeding them also  :)

it was a great feeling. to be able to feed these birds. close up. right on your very hand. it is an experience. a memory.

i look like a pirate. cool. ^^ v

hehe. sorry. :)

overall. it was a great experience. our visit to  KL Bird Park : World's Largest Free-flight Walk-in Aviary was a moment to remember. especially when we come with our loved ones. i really hope to come here again. maybe with friends after this. that might be a different story.  :)

we enjoyed.

you are my best friend!

I have a friend. well, everybody has a friend or lots of friends. but this particular friend of mine is like, my best friend. and that friend is a she. ooppss!

if you are reading this. you know who you are.  :)

i have known her for almost 3 years. quite a long time yes?
i met her when i am in matriculation. the same batch with me but different course.
at a first glance, she seems like the girl who are very quiet. very reserved.
and how true that was.
she is soft spoken, kind, caring, smart, funny and so much more. there is only good things that i can say about her.
we see each other quite often during those times. she always helped me in studying as she is very smart. well, i always needed help in my studies. even in my degrees now. simply put, we spent a lot of time together.
we were close. yeah. we were close.
we shared stories, problems and tell each other almost anything. almost. not everything. :)
though she shared a lot of things about herself with me, she can be quite secretive at some times. i might have to force her to tell me if anything is troubling her or if anything was on her mind.
she was very close. best friend.
those were the times.  :)

now. as we are in different universities, we no longer have the luxury of seeing each other. i cannot even imagine how she looks right now. there are only pictures that could tell me.
i cannot easily meet her because our home are far apart. i live in klang and she lives in seremban.
to some that might not be too far. reachable. i know its reachable but then i have time constraints.  :(
the only way we could communicate with each other is only by phone or social networking.
but not always. maybe even not anymore.
because of the difference in time usage between us, we do not know when either of us are free.
when i'm free she might have class. when she's free then i might have class.
so our free time are quite unpredictable which resulted in us not knowing when to contact the other. well, mostly me. i'm the one who don't know when to contact her. she is the one who constantly finding time to contact me first. i'm ashamed of myself.  :(

how can i call her my best friend when i did not even try to contact her eh? she can find time to contact me but i am always too busy to even send her a text. a simple "how do you do?". was that so hard? i am even more ashamed of myself.  :(

because of this, now i hardly know what is happening around her. her problems, her triumphs, her feelings. i know nothing about her now that it feels like we do not know each other.
up to an extent that she could even say and ask me:

"best friend knows everything about his/her best friend. are we best friend? or only old friend?"

that was what she said. and it struck me. like lightning. like if zeus existed then that lightning might be his. it struck me like when a lecturer is calling your name and announcing that you failed in front of the whole class. and the whole class laughing. on the floor! that was how i felt.

how true her words was.

is she my best friend? if she is then am i treating her like a best friend?
the answer is simple. surely i am not. i am not treating her how i should have been.
and i am very sorry to her for what i have become. neglecting a friend. its unfriendly of me.
how could i.  :(

i hope that i can change this fact. i hope we can be what we used to be. close.
for that, i have to take care of my best friend more.

i write this for the sole purpose of saying that i am truly very sorry. sorry for not being the friend that i claim to be.  i am sorry.
and here i want to tell you that you are still my best friend. forever and ever. i hope. and i wish you feel the same about me too. i know you will read this. i hope you will read this. so there.

Leo girl. you are my best friend!!

slap that face of yours

You are not that pure yourself!!
so stop saying things about others that almost resembles you. YOU sound obnoxious.

see yourself in the mirror first before you want to start commenting on other people.
just because you changed a bit recently does not make you pure. holy.
because not too long ago you were just the same as the others you loathe.

stop for a while. and start judging yourself first.
people who know you might find what you say really annoying. ironic.
others might find you to be just a simple fraud.

in the first place, if you really had changed then you would not be talking bad about people would you?
saying bad comments. and laugh about it.
you are just disgusting.

nothing much changed about you yet you act as if you have changed for the better of the world.
come on. wake up. slap yourself.

change is not something that happens in appearance. but as a whole.
you can talk and admit all you want.
but in the end. people will just see who you really are.

so wake up. slap yourself.
